AT&T has been managing to do pretty well recently, despite concerns that many have for the health of the telecommunications industry. The telecommunications industry has not yet been hit hard by the falling economy, although many expect that it will have an effect at some point soon. Telephones surely are not as great a necessity as food and shelter, but nonetheless they have become a staple in most American's lives; almost 85% of American consumers own a cell phone. When AT&T announced its most recent earnings report this morning, the company managed to stay even with analysts' expectations, and post a solid earnings increase. But although the company appears to be in good shape now, why are some analysts continuing to worry and predict problems for the company in the future?
