SBI 101 Branches opened.
State Bank of India has opened 101 branches across the country on 1 July on the occasion of Bank Day.
It may be recalled the bank came into existence on 1 July 1955 and was named Imperial Bank of India. At a function in New Delhi, Finance Minister P Chidambaram clicked a button to mark the simultaneous opening of all the 101 branches.

In Chennai alone, 10 branches were opened on the 1 July at MMDA Colony (Arumbakkam), New Avadi Road (Kilpauk), Kellys (Kilpauk), Egmore High Road (Egmore), Dr Tirumoorthy Nagar (Nungambakkam), Valmiki Nagar (Tiruvanmmiyur), MRC Nagar (RA Puram), West Velachery and Adambakkam.
