ndian shares turned negative after rising as much as 1.3 per cent early on Monday, but Reliance Communications rose sharply after it ended tie-up talks with South Africa's MTN Group late on Friday.
Reliance Communications was trading up 2.25 per cent at 445 rupees at 10:04 a.m. (0434 GMT), after opening up 3.4 per cent, on relief it called off the talks to create a top-10 global telecom firm, avoiding a potential head-on legal clash between members of its founding Ambani family.
The 30-share BSE index was down 0.04 per cent at 13,629.74, after rising as high as 13,814.48.
