Trichet says ECB concerned by excessive currency movements
BASEL (Thomson Financial) - European Central Bank president Jean-Claude Trichet said the ECB is concerned by 'excessive' movements in exchange rates.
'Excessive volatility and disorderly movements in exchange rates are undesirable for economic growth,' Trichet said after a meeting of G10 central bank governors.
Trichet once again noted 'with particular attention' US authorities have said they see a strong dollar as being in the interest of the US economy.
