With an aim to simplify tax payment in India, a free service known as the Online Tax Preparation Service has been launched by Cambridge Technology Enterprises (CTE) - a provider of comprehensive Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based solutions and Enterprise Transformation applications.

The company has designed the service through a website that, it claims, is user-friendly and intuitive. The service aims at assisting individuals to file their income tax return in India.

To use this service, users need to register and answer a few queries related to their income and savings. The application will generate a completely filled, tamper proof Income Tax Form. The job of the user is to take a print out, sign it, and file it at the Income Tax office or any designated Post Office across India. As assured by Jagdish Negi, head (India operations) of CTE - with the eventual improvement of overall technology penetration and adoption, direct form submission to the department and self service facilities would be made available.
